Wells & Vision isn’t just an eye care practice, it’s the fulfillment of a dream that began when Dr. Greta Gregg was a little girl.

Greta was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where her parents gave up everything they knew to bring her to the United States as a young child. They left behind their home, their careers, and their community so their daughter could have opportunities they never had. That sacrifice shaped the values that guide her life and her work.

As Greta grew up, she discovered optometry and immediately knew it was her calling. She wanted to help people see the beauty in the world clearly and dreamed of building a practice of her own one day. Through years of school, residency, teaching, and clinical leadership, that childhood dream stayed the same: to create a practice defined by excellence, compassion, and genuine human care.

That dream expanded when she met Josh, her high school sweetheart, and now husband and partner in bringing Wells & Vision to life. Josh understood how long Greta had worked for this moment and poured the same dedication into creating something special for the community they’d call home.

For more than a decade, they’ve lived just two blocks from where the practice now stands. River North isn’t just where they work; it’s their neighborhood, their home, and the backdrop of most of their adult life together.

So when they bought the building to open Wells & Vision, they made a bold decision: to move in and live above the practice, creating the ultimate work-life integration. To pour everything, personally and professionally, into serving the community they love.

Together, they imagined a boutique, tech-forward optometry practice. One where modern diagnostics meet warm, personal care, where busy professionals and families feel welcome, and where every patient is treated with the level of attention Greta always believed people deserved.
